A decaying molar is entitled to its delicious food.
Fables of the Animal World.
`
Yasi nanu: Eso a-Nyame and his cousin Mbgwa Nyame sat on a log, relaxed. In the course of their discussion Eso said:
“
“Mola Mbgwa ! Listen carefully. “ongo Ngowa Wanga (“that” Ngowa Wanga has a variety of delicious food that he has being hoarding for days. I propose that we seize it from him. After all, he has dirty molars. Moreover, his decayed molars wobble whenever he chews food.
He cannot therefore do justice to food. He merely soils food, leaks it, swallows what he can, and throws away the bones. We should not allow Ngowa to continue to waste good quality food. Ngowe has become ineligible for consumption of good quality food because of his decayed molars.
You will no doubt agree with me that delicious food is good only for you and I who crush bones with our clean and active teeth
“Ngowa asa kane li-la fe mafoko.
mafoko ma jo-kane ndi iso no wa,
iso ema iveni vekoko ve sangi,
ve-gbwa vee-se”..
Mbgwa repied promptly:
“Good idea.
We will seize the food from Ngowa this night”.
From under the log, Ikula Nyame who was harvesting mushroom exclaimed:
“sei ! Eso inyo na Mbgwa,
eveli ndi vae-mba, na vekenege !
ya kpwa-nya mwe-nye oo” !
(“Eso and Mbgwa, you are witches and terrorists.
You are about to get mad”).
“The law in our land protects every citizen and his/her right to own private property as well as his/her right to use his/her property without being molested. Even babies have a right to own property. In fact some babies are born with silver spoons in their mouths. The union of a decayed molar and its delicious food should not be a problem.
Ngowa Wanga has a right to own delicious food, and eat it in the manner he likes, his decayed molars notwithstanding:
ekoko e-kpwi, na lifoko leni;
esa tokisene. nanu ndi ese eveli.
wenga eso-kana Ngowa lisinga na lifoko leeni.
esi ke-ka lifotono Ngowe lifoko leni”.
(“A decaying molar has a right to chew its delicious food.
This is how the world is.
So, do not be covetous.
You are wrong to propose that you will terrorize Ngowa and seize his delicious food”).
“ekoko e-kpwi na lifoko leni”.
Literally:
It is his good fortune. He has a right to enjoy his good fortune without being molested. The question of his eligibility or in-eligibility for ownership of the good fortune and his ability to use his fortune correctly or incorrectly is irrelevant.
