I caught glimpses of the dungeon-like conditions of New Bell Prison in Jean Marie Teno's film 'Chef', which had a segment, including images, of Pius Njawe's detention in the late 1990s. The conditions were reminiscent of the bellies of transatlantic 'cargo' ships circa 1700s..
